October 3rd - 6 Month Checkup

We got back from Mayo this week with the 6 month checkup.  Good news, no rejection!!  We think Margaret is experiencing some side effects from her medicine.  She has intestinal issues, cramping, mouth sores,  an on again - off again temperature and goes tinkle about 6 times a night, yes I am 52 and I said tinkle.  They wanted us to stay longer to do more testing to make sure it is drug side effects and not a disease but we just couldn't so we are going back in a few weeks for hopefully just a short visit.  This way the can schedule all the tests and it will be a shorter visit.  If we had stayed we probably wouldn't be home yet since fitting people in for a number of tests can take a while.  One test the soonest we could of had done was Thursday and that was not even guaranteed.  In the mean time she is taking Imodium to help with the intestinal distress and Tylenol for the temperature when it shows up.  They say that they don't know why she is up that many times a night going tinkle but when we talk to others on the same meds and even some medical people not in transplant at Mayo they say yes that is a 'normal' side effect of one of her meds.

Once they get a handle on these issues they will start to convert one of her anti-rejection meds to another her to one which will hopefully alleviate some of the side effect but may bring on others, how wonderful, something to look forward to.

The good news again is that there is no rejection!

That's all I got for now, thanks for stopping by.
